Control Your Time with Flexible Blocking Rules

Go beyond permanent blocks. Set timers, usage limits, and recurring schedules to perfectly match your workflow.

What is Time-Based Blocking?

Time-Based Blocking offers a powerful suite of tools to control when and for how long websites are blocked. It's your personal focus assistant, giving you the flexibility to create rules that fit any situation, from a short study session to a full work week.

This feature includes several options:

  • Quick Timers: Block a site after a short, preset amount of usage.
  • Usage Limits: Set a custom daily limit (e.g., 30 minutes) for a specific site.
  • Recurring Schedules: Create a weekly schedule to block sites during specific hours, like your 9-to-5 workday.

This "set it and forget it" approach for your schedules, combined with the flexibility of timers, removes the need for constant willpower and helps you build better habits automatically.

How to Set Up a Time-Based Block

  1. Open the Website Blocker settings and go to your "Block List".
  2. Add a website you want to manage or select an existing one.
  3. Instead of "Permanent," choose the "Time Wise Block" option.
  4. Next, choose the type of time-based rule you want to apply:
    • Preset Timers: Select a pre-configured time (like 5 min, 30 min, 1 hour) to block the site after that much usage today.
    • Custom Usage Limit: Select "Custom Min" and enter a specific number of minutes to set your own daily usage limit.
    • Recurring Schedule: Select "Custom Scheduler" to create a weekly schedule, defining the exact hours and days you want the site blocked.
  5. Save your rule. The extension will now automatically enforce your time-based settings.
