Automate Your Focus with Scheduled Blocking

Define your productive hours and let the extension do the work. Block distractions automatically based on your unique schedule.

What is Scheduled Blocking?

Scheduled Blocking (or Time-Wise Blocking) is your personal focus assistant. It gives you the power to decide when certain websites should be inaccessible. You can create custom schedules for specific days of the week and times of the day.

For example, you can block all social media and news websites from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays to create a distraction-free work zone. The websites will automatically become available outside of your scheduled focus time. This "set it and forget it" approach removes the need for constant willpower.

Key Benefits

  • Build Strong Routines: Enforce a consistent work/life balance by defining clear boundaries for your online activity.
  • Save Mental Energy: No need to manually block sites every day. The schedule runs automatically in the background.
  • Highly Flexible: Create different rules for different days. Block gaming sites during the week but allow them on weekends.
  • Perfect for Pomodoro: Align your blocking schedule with your focus intervals to ensure maximum concentration.

How to Set Up a Schedule

  1. Open the Website Blocker settings page.
  2. Add a website to your blocklist or select an existing one.
  3. Instead of "Permanent," choose the "Time Wise Block" option.
  4. Choose the type of time-based rule you want to apply:
    • Select a preset timer (1 min, 5 min, 30 min, 1 hour) to block the site after that much usage.
    • Select "Custom Min" and enter a specific number of minutes.
    • Select "Custom Scheduler" to create a weekly recurring schedule.
  5. If you chose "Custom Scheduler," define the hours (e.g., from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and select the days of the week you want the block to be active.
  6. Save your rule. The extension will now automatically enforce this schedule.
